Which Colts rookie will make the biggest impact?

The 2024 NFL Draft is considered by many to be one of the most talented drafts in recent history. That being said, there is no doubt that the Indianapolis Colts have several promising rookies who will make an impact from day one. The Colts have completed the 2024 NFL Draft with nine players selected at various positions. However, three players have a real chance to become the hottest rookies in the league. These players are more likely to be able to contribute early and from day one. Rookies who will make the biggest impact on the Colts

Rayatu Ratu, Delaware

The Colts selected UCLA defensive end Riata Lata with the 15th overall pick in the draft. A Vince Lombardi Award winner, Latu will be NFL ready from day one. Colts defensive coordinator Gus Bradley has spoken about edge rushers in media interviews. He said many rookies have a transition period where they have to get into the rhythm of the NFL. But Mr. Bradley said Latu was an “admirable” person and had “an advantage” in the transition.

According to Nick Bromberg of Yahoo! Sports, Latu has a second chance to win Defensive Rookie of the Year. He ranks second to fellow draftee Dallas Turner, who was selected 17th overall by the Minnesota Vikings. Defensive line coach Eddie McGilver has worked with some of the best players in the league. He has worked with Aidan Hutchinson and Khalil Mack, to name a few. McGilbera said Latu has the ability to play on par with T.J. Watt. Latu’s footwork and speed are just as explosive when attacking from the rim. If Latu can stay healthy, he could make an impact in the Colts’ starting lineup. Adonai Mitchell, WR

The Indianapolis Colts’ second pick was Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, who was considered a first-round talent. So the Colts have the ball and he’s ready to make an impact as a rookie. When Mitchell was drafted, Colts wide receivers coach Reggie Wayne said Mitchell was “better.” He also pointed out that Mitchell’s hit in the second inning was a “stolen base.” Combine that with Mitchell. With his vertical ability and tackle speed, the Colts offense is poised to explode. He will be playing alongside playmakers like Josh Downs, Michael Pittman Jr. and Jonathan Taylor. Mitchell will be elite if he gets the chance to play on the field. Anthony Gould, WR

Anthony Gould was a fifth-round NFL draft pick and could make an impact as a rookie for the Colts. Gould is a 5-foot-8 receiver who ran a 4.39 yardage at the combine and excelled on special teams. After returning specialist Isaiah McKenzie signed with the New York Giants last year, someone else had to take his place. Based on the draft, it’s clear that the Colts will rely on Gould as a return specialist. He will also provide depth at receiver. Gould was very productive on special teams in college. If his work translates to the NFL, he could make an immediate impact for the Colts as a rookie.
