LeBron James Told The Lakers Coaching Staff To Give Him The Board To Draw Up Final Possession Against Mavs

LeBron James is one of the smartest minds to ever play basketball and he has proven that repeatedly in his career. He proved it once again during the Lakers’ win over the Dallas Mavericks.

To complete the league’s first 27-point comeback win of the season, James took over the final timeout and told the Lakers coaching staff that he would draw up the final play of the game.

LeBron sat down and repeatedly said ‘I got it’ before asking for the coach’s clipboard. No coach in the NBA can say no to LeBron in a situation like that, as we’ve seen James draw up many final plays in his career. The play was run for Davis in the post and resulted in a foul.

With a win over a team that’s been comfortable as a top-6 team for most of the season, the Lakers are proving to the NBA that they have one of the best rosters in the league. They are just 3 games under .500 now and briefly occupied the 11th seed in the West before Portland’s win over Houston later in the evening.

They are just 2.5 games behind the Mavericks in the sixth seed and could have a very realistic shot at climbing 5 places if they can keep their winning ways going. Every team in the West playoff race drops games, a lot of the time to each other, so LA needs to capitalize and ensure their franchise doesn’t go consecutive seasons without a playoff appearance with LeBron James.
