Lewis Hamilton swears again live on Sky Sports F1 in response to Kevin Magnussen fight

Lewis Hamilton didn’t score any points in the Miami Grand Prix Sprint race after falling victim to aggressive driving by Kevin Magnussen before picking up a penalty of his own

Lewis Hamilton swore as he issued a surprising response to Kevin Magnussen ‘s illegal driving during the Miami Grand Prix Sprint.

Hamilton didn’t score a single point in Saturday’s short-form race. He was slapped with a 20-second penalty after taking the chequered flag, having been found guilty of speeding in the pit lane.

Before that, he had been held up on track by Magnussen who fought tooth and nail to keep the Mercedes behind. He was trying to give team-mate Nico Hulkenberg the chance to build a gap ahead of them to secure points for Haas.

And that was successful as the German finished seventh. But Magnussen was slapped with no fewer than three separate penalties by the stewards due to his over-the-line actions.

As a result, the Dane was also well off the points positions by the time those penalties were applied to his race time. But, although he didn’t like the way he had gone about the race, Magnussen insisted he did not regret his actions.

He admitted: “All the penalties were well deserved, no doubt about it. But I had to play the game again. I was in a very good position behind Nico there and, at the beginning of the race, I gained a lot of positions and was up in P8.

“I was protected well from Lewis because I had DRS from Nico and had good pace, I felt. But then Nico cut the chicane and I lost DRS – Nico could have given that back to protect me because we would easily have been P7 and P8, but instead I was really vulnerable to Lewis.
