Minu Lee will play for TGL, a team owned by NBA champions Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Australian star Minwoo Lee will play as NBA royalty after signing with Tiger Woods’ new Indoor Golf League team, owned by Golden State Warriors champion Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Lee, who is ranked 34th in the world, joined Woods’ TGL’s New Bay Golf Club, a high-tech golf league that will start in 2025 after a 12-month delay. The Australians were approached to join League One before Florida’s purpose-built stadium was destroyed by bad weather. Due to this delay, the league also lost Jon Rahm, who joined LIV Golf. Lee will now join current U.S. Open champion Windham Clark, Ludwig Oberg and Shane Lowry on the California team. That team includes Curry, a four-time NBA champion, Thompson, a golf fanatic who also tried out for the second round of the Korn Ferry Tour, and former teammate Andre Iguodala. among the ownership group.

F1 driver Alex Albon is also one of the minority owners. The first season of TGL begins on January 7, 2025 in prime time on ESPN.

The massive new structure, supported by a steel frame, will feature giant screens and stadium-style seating that will take indoor golf to a whole new level. There will be six teams, each consisting of four PGA Tour players, and Woods and Rory McIlroy will be at the heart of a new operation designed to match the entertainment element offered by LIV Golf.

Lee will not be competing in this week’s Wells Fargo Championship, but will be one of five Australians competing in the second major of the year, the PGA Championship at Valhalla next week.
