Golf fans react to unsurprising Tiger Woods update ahead of US PGA

Valhalla

Tiger Woods has reportedly headed over to ‘scout’ Valhalla today on the eve of next week’s US PGA Championship.

Woods, 48, last week told several TV hosts that he intends to play the remaining three majors of 2024, and hopefully one event per month from now until the end of the season.

Despite all of Woods’ recent setbacks, the 15-time major champion impressively set a new consecutive cuts made record at The Masters last month.

But sadly Woods could not keep his foot on the gas over the weekend and he finished dead last in solo 60th.

That was the last time we saw Woods in action.

Many golf fans consider the 23 holes Woods was forced to play on the Friday – as a result of playing catch up from Thursday’s delay – proved detrimental to his chances of moving up the leaderboard over the final 36 holes.

The good news for Woods at Valhalla though is that the course is much flatter than Augusta National, especially on the front nine.

Woods also has good vibes heading into the second major of the season, especially having won the 2000 US PGA at Valhalla in a three-hole playoff against Bob May.

When Woods teed it up there again in 2014, however, he did not have as much luck as he went on to MC.

According to the popular TWLegion account on X / Twitter, the four-time US PGA champion headed over to play Valhalla on Monday 6 May just 24 hours after his good friend Justin Thomas did the same.

Woods needs one more victory to set an outright record of 83 PGA Tour wins.

He needs three more major victories to match 18-time record holder Jack
