Golf fans all say same thing as PGA of America dish out LIV Golf invites

The PGA of America has invited six LIV Golf players into next week’s US PGA Championship at Valhalla over the past 24 hours, but a number of golf fans appear baffled that South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen is still waiting for the postman.

Oosthuizen, 41, has won 16 times around the world during his pro career, highlighted by etching his name on the famous Claret Jug at the Home of Golf, St Andrews, at the 2010 Open Championship.

But it’s the recent performances of the Stinger GC captain that has left plenty of golf fans around the world scratching the surface as to how Oosthuizen has been omitted from the LIV Golf invite list into the 2024 US PGA next week.

However, it has come to light this afternoon that Oosthuizen was ‘offered but declined’ an invite into the US PGA Championship next week, according to reports.

Gooch and Puig were handed invites into the US PGA field on Monday 6 May, and then Burmester, Reed, Meronk and Herbert were added on Tuesday 7 May.

Which LIV Golf players are in the field at the 2024 US PGA Championship?

In total there will be 16 LIV Golf players in the field at the US PGA, which is three more than at The Masters last month.

Oosthuizen won twice on the DP World Tour at the end of 2023 and has since added a number of impressive performances on the Saudi-bankrolled league including a pair of runner-up finishes in Jeddah and Adelaide.
