No, no, no, no,” Tiger said when asked if Sam had put any thought into becoming a golfer like the rest of her family. “She has a, I think, a negative connotation to the game because at that time, when she was growing up, golf took daddy away from her. I had to pack and I had to leave and I had to be gone for weeks and there’s still a negative connotation to it.”

Tiger admitted he was OK with Sam not wanting to pursue golf and has found other ways to connect with his oldest child. To Tiger, being able to connect with his children in some way was more important than forcing his children to do something they did not want to do.
