The Chuckster may be up to

This year’s NBA Playoffs have been a testament to the resilience of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ intrepid wingman, Anthony Edwards. With his stock already at an all-time high, the man known as “Ant-Man” further solidified his reputation, scoring an impressive 44 points on 16-of-25 shooting in a 115-107 loss to the Denver Nuggets that tied the Western Conference semifinals series at 2-2.

Ant has been so terrific this season that players and experts have claimed he’s playing a lot like the ‘Greatest of All Time,’ Michael Jordan. However, Hall of Famer Charles Barkley urged everyone to pump the brakes on such comparisons, given how the young man has only played four seasons in the NBA and does not have that robust a body of work to be compared with any of the league’s icons.

As spectacular as the former Georgia Bulldog has been this season, people often forget that Edwards is only 22 years old and is playing in his third playoff run. Although the high-leaping and supremely confident off-guard is averaging a career-high 32.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game this postseason, it still pales compared to what ‘His Airness’ did in his playoff run at age 22.

The Chicago Bulls lost to the Boston Celtics in the first round with a sweep, but MJ left an unforgettable imprint on the Celtics and the entire league as he averaged 43.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. This included his spectacular 63-point explosion in Game 2.

That said, the Chuckster had enough of the AE-Jordan comparisons.
