Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards could increase Michael Jordan comparisons with Game 7 win

Anthony Edwards has become a household name in the sports world this postseason. The 23-year-old Minnesota Timberwolves star looks to be the next great forward in NBA history. This gave rise to significant comparisons to Michael Jordan. Whenever you seriously compare a player to Michael Jordan, the comparison comes with a certain amount of skepticism and expectation. In addition to these comparisons, the most ironic rumor is that Anthony Edwards is actually Michael Jordan’s son. Even if this is not true, the similarities are striking.

It definitely looks and plays the same! But Anthony Edwards has actually said several times during the postseason that he’s not comparable, and who can blame him? Compared to, perhaps, a goat is supplied with a ton pressure and sets a standard, which seems to be almost impossible to comply. Think about how great Lebron James’s career is. For many, he still can’t compare to Michael Jordan.

But if the Timberwolves find a way to win Game 7 in Denver, those comparisons will only intensify. At 23 years old, Anthony Edwards would lead Minnesota as far as it has ever been. And they will be heavy favorites to advance to the NBA Finals against the Thunder or Mavericks, depending on who wins the series. Anthony Edwards is currently one of the young faces of the league alongside the San Antonio Spurs’ Victory Wenbanyama, and he could quickly become the undisputed face of the league if the T-Wolves win the title, possibly against the Boston Celtics. Even Michael Jordan wasn’t the face of the league at age 23.

But first we have to win, and that will be a very difficult task. Garrett Carr is a recent graduate of Penn State University and a BroBible writer specializing in the NFL, college football, and MLB. He currently lives in Pennsylvania.
