Rory McIlroy ‘barged to front of nightclub lines’ and ‘thinks he’s more famous than he is’but unfortunately it was……..

Rory McIlroy has earned a reputation as one of the best golf players of his generation, with four major titles among a vast collection of silverware collected throughout his career. But the Northern Irishman has been blasted for his alleged antics while growing up in the town of Holywood, County Down

According to the Mail, the 35-year-old held his first golf club in the first few years of his life, albeit a plastic one, which he broke by hitting balls too hard, forcing his father, Gerry, to cut down a real one.

At the age of seven, McIlroy became the youngest member of the Holywood Golf Club after his obvious talent prompted the committee to alter their rules to allow entry

His parents accompanied him around the world as he caught the attention of many with his tournament wins throughout his teens, and their pride is said to be shared by his childhood club.

According to an individual who recalled an unpleasant interaction during McIlroy’s youth to the Mail, he didn’t leave a good impression at nightclubs, in particular.

He’s got a big ego, he always has. He’d barge his way to the front of the queue at nightclubs, demanding VIP treatment,” the individual alleged.

“I was in a bar where he was very rude to anyone who approached him, asking for a picture or an autograph. He once pushed past me and spilt my drink and didn’t stop to look back – let alone apologise.

His involvement in the competition followed his decision to file for a divorce from his wife, Erica Stoll, on Monday.

McIlroy’s representatives confirmed the split on Tuesday, moments before he was spotted practising for his latest major tournament.

A day later, Stoll was publicly spotted for the first time since the split without a wedding ring on her finger. She is reportedly still living at the couple’s grand Florida mansion with their three-year-old daughter, Poppy.
