Caitlin Clark Breaks Silence On Michael Jordan-Level Deal

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark couldn’t be prouder of her latest business deal that puts her in the same level as NBA icon Michael Jordan.

For those who missed it, Clark recently inked a multi-year contract with Wilson to be its ambassador. The Fever star will launch her own signature basketball collection as part of the deal, becoming the first athlete to do so since Jordan signed with the brand in the 1980s.

Speaking to Boardroom about the development, Clark understands how huge the deal is, not only for her but for women’s basketball in general. With that being said, she’s appreciative of the honor that’s given to her.

“They haven’t done a collaboration like this since Michael Jordan … I’m just grateful,” Clark shared.

Clark also expressed her excitement to see her fans and young kids, especially girls, get a hand on her basketball. For her, to connect with the fans in such a momentous way is truly special.

“I feel like I was just that young kid who had those basketballs that I would store in the garage. I’m just very lucky and fortunate to partner with Wilson to create something that everyone can enjoy. It connects with a lot of generations, and it’ll be fun to see kids walking around holding them,” Clark furthered.

Clark has been a major catalyst in elevating not only the WNBA but women’s basketball and sports in general. While she and the Fever have struggled to win games in the league, she continues to be not only a trendsetter but also a trailblazer in bringing opportunities for women’s basketball players that weren’t available before.
