Now one week since he was arrested before his second round at the PGA Championship, the charges still stand against World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler was arrested and hit with four charges, including one felony count of second-degree assault on a police officer.

Scheffler described the situation as a “big misunderstanding,” and many believed the charges against him would be quickly dropped

But with the charges still standing, Scheffler’s attorney Steve Romines has issued a warning to the prosecution.

“Our position remains the same as it was last Friday. I am not negotiating as we have no interest in settling. I am preparing to litigate as needed and the case will be dismissed or we will go to trial because Scottie did absolutely nothing wrong,” Romines said in a statement, via ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.
