After winning three consecutive Callaway Junior World titles from 2006 to 2008, Murray officially turned professional in 2015. His first title came just two years later in the Barbasol Championship and then won his second career title at the Sony Open in January.

During the seven-year gap between successes, Murray opened up about his struggles with anxiety and depression, and he admitted that it then led to alcoholism to which he went to rehab for. “Everyone has their battles. And sometimes people are able to hide them and function, and sometimes you’re not,” Murray once said.

“I think our society now is getting better about accepting that, you know, it’s OK to not be OK.” Murray often used his social media platforms to help others struggling with depression, messaging those who reached out to him with similar issues.
